After an airplane ran off the runway on Sunday, March 20th, the Alejandro Velasco Astete airport in Cusco was in chaos. All flights on Sunday were suspended due to this incident. Luckily flights resumed on Monday, but passengers saw intense delays.Peruvian Airlines announced that the tire of the plane burst, which is what caused the airplane´s course to go awry. Fortunately there were no human injuries, but the emergency response was initiated to ensure the safety of all passengers. Henry Zaira, Depty Transport Minister, announced that they will be doing a full investigation of the event. Additionally, more flights than usual will be available on Monday so that delayed passengers will be able to reach their destinations.
