More than 50 000 people celebrated the Sun Festival in the Inca city

The closing events of the Peruvian city of Cusco's month celebrations, also known as Kacharpari, consist of musical shows, artistic dances, and a gastronomical festival.

This festivities were held during the month in June and part of July and all of them portrayed the best of the Inca city.

The closing activities started this July 8th at the Regocijo Square with an exhibition and sale of Cusco typical food, like desserts and sweets. There we also bands performing their typical music.

The Municipal Company of Festivals in Cusco (Emufec) also organized different academic, religious, and cultural activities that caught the attention of locals and tourists.

The most important celebration was the Inti Raymi, or Festival of the Sun. This big festivity took place in three different locations: Qorikancha temple, the Cusco's Main Square, and Sacsayhuaman Fortress, which gathered over 50 000 attendees.
