According to Cusco’s regional office for Culture, young people (21-30 years of age) made up the majority of tourists visiting the ‘Lost City of the Incas’ in 2012.
The site drew 214,276 tourists in this age bracket, far surpassing the next, being between 31-40 years of age with 180,378 tourists.
The 3 top months for young people visiting the citadel included two dry months, and surprisingly one month during rainy season. January attracted 23,841 visitors, July 24,249 and August 22,633.
Thus far this month, 21,210 tourists between the ages of 21-30 years of age have visited one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
