The past Friday, Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board (Promperu) announced the launching of its first online advertising campaign aimed at Austrailians!
The goal is to raise awareness of Peru as a destination for tourists, and icrease bookings from travelers from Australia. In order to reach this goal, Promperu partnered with travel websites Expedia and Travelocity’s Zuji.
These travel websites are now running advertising banners that showcase Peru’s key tourist draw cards, including the Amazon, Lima and Cusco.
The advertisements will offer deals such as 30% discounts with participating hotels.
The partnerships are part of a larger intercontinental alliance between Promperu and the travel websites. Advertising campaigns are also in place to target travelers in USA and Canada."
Australian travelers are increasingly seeking out Peru for its wealth of rich culture and history, world-class cuisine, and diversity of experiences. Therefore, we wanted to further encourage travel to Peru through these partnerships," said Alan Kupis, Strategic Alliances Coordinator at Promperu.
"We ran a very successful campaign with Expedia last year targeted at the UK and Canada which resulted in a 26% increase in passenger numbers to Peru, a 22% increase in air tickets sold and a rise of 21% hotel nights sold. By extending the Expedia campaign to Australia and additionally partnering with Zuji for this market, we have high expectations and look forward to welcoming many more Australians to Peru," Kupis added.
