The Inca Citadel Machu Picchu is one of the most visited destinations in South-America.To get there, up till now, travelers have to first arrival to Lima; and from Lima, take a bus or plane to Cusco, also called the gateway to the Lost City Of The Inca's.However, from of August 2018 on, the airline LATAM is opening a non-stop line from Santiago de Chile to Cusco. There will be flights per week. Thanks to this direct flight, Machu Picchu will be better accessible. The plane will be a 144-seat Airbus A319 taking up to 45 000 people to the loved city of Cusco."As a part of our effort to offer an unprecedented connectivity in Latin America and to reinforce our commitment with the development of sustainable tourism in the region, we are happy to announce that starting in August we will offer our first international non stop flight to Cusco, Peru's Imperial City," says Enrique Cueto, CEO of LATAM Airlines. "With 24 new routes programmed to start in 2018, we continue bringing the most remote places of the region to the world," he concluded.Latam has flown since 1999 from Lima to Cusco, with up to 24 flights a day, and from of the 15th of August. Now it will be the first and only Airline that offers international flights directly to Cusco. In 2018 LATAM has programmed to not only start Cusco, but also 24 other destinations, including Pisco, Iquitos and Trujillo.
