In 2015 a total of 1,862,900 foreign tourist came to Cusco. This accounts for a significant increase from the previous year of almost 11%. These numbers were revealed by Peru’s Central Reserve Bank. The majority of these visitors who came to Cusco came from the United States (481,100). The amount of visitors from the US increased by 13, 8% from the previous year. The second largest group of visitors came from Argentina 95, 900, the amount of visitors increased by 20, 9%, followed by England, 103, 600 with an increase of 16, 3% and France, 126,300 with an increase of 12%. In the first two months of 2016 the foreign tourist arrivals to Machu Picchu increased with 8%, this means 125, 888 visitors. There was also an increase in the national visitors traveling to Machu Picchu : 18, 9% compared to from the previous year.
