The OPECU, the Peruvian Agency for Consumers and Users, has informed that Peru has now one of the fastest mobile internet download speeds in South America.According to the OPECU’s president, Hector Plate Canepa, Peru is the country with most uploads (3,77 Mbps) in South America, followed by Argentina, Bolivia and Venezuela. “The regional ranking presents Peru with an average upload speed of 5.83 Mbps. This is higher than the global average number of 5 Mbps and Peru now ranks 42nd at a global level," Hector Plate confirmed proudly. OPECU carried out a statistic table with average download and upload speeds in South America, per country, since April 2014.The data for the statistics were provided by netindex.com, powered by Ookla speedtest, a global leader in broadband testing in over in 200 countries world wide.Plate says that Peru made the jump fo the 4th to the 2nd position on the ranking, thanks to the entry of two new operators in Peru.So travelers in Cusco and in Peru are assured to be able to post many photographs on social media of their travels to Machu Picchu and elsewhere.
