Cusco is an amazing place that has beautiful sights like he Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuaman and "Montaña de Siete Colores." Also called Rainbow Mountain, it has become quickly one of the most visited destinations in Peru by both Peruvian and foreign tourists. That might also be the reason why BBC World has written an article about the Montaña de Siete Colores. The article highlights the beauty of the Rainbow Mountain: "Its slopes and summits are dyed by strips of intense shades of fuchsia, turquoise, lavender, and gold."The spectacular view has been bringing tourists since the start opening of the destination in 2016. Thanks to its popularity, what has been given a boost through social media, the sight obtained a permanent place on lists that ranks the most attractive touristic destinations in Peru. Last August 2017, Rainbow Mountain also ranked high on the list "the 100 places to visit before you die", compiled by the travel experts from Business Insider. The Vinicunca, as it's called in Spanish, located on 5.200 m above sea level, has a rainbow-like formation due to a 65 million-year-old history of marine, lacustrine and fluvial sediments. Only discovered two years ago, the site is now receiving about a 1 000 visitors a day, and it is even being threatened to get polluted by the number of tourists.
