Shops and Shopping in Cusco

The city of Cusco offers endless opportunities for shopping. There are many different shops souvenir, from Alpaca clothes to small souvenirs like jewellery and dream catchers – as well as different markets. A lot of shops work together with local communities in Peru that make the products by hand out of self prepared material. Also the handicraft products like the woven textiles from the Andes and the Amazon are popular and represented in different shops. The neighbourhood of San Blas is full of little shops with traditional and authentic products. Other famous streets for shopping in Cusco are Calle Plateros, Calle Triunfo, and the San Pedro Market. There are also good local markets in the Sacred valley of the Incas, in Pisac, Ollantaytambo and in Chincheros.
